2020 Nissan Qashqai Unveiled in Chicago

The 2020 Nissan Qashqai received a host of improvements at the recent Chicago Auto Show that includes a new front design and improved equipment list.

Still powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that delivers 141 horsepower and 147 pound-feet of torque, the Qashqai has the new Nissan V-Motion grill as well as a host of new safety features included in the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of active safety features.

These include Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and High Beam Assist (HBA).

Another new feature on the 2020 Nissan Qashqai is the rear door alert which provides added safety in the city. It essentially prevents rear seat passengers from opening the door if a vehicle is coming towards the Qashqai.

"Our Qashqai is a critical vehicle in Nissan's popular CUV lineup; slotted strategically between the Nissan Kicks and Rogue," said Steve Rhind, director of marketing, Nissan Canada Inc. "We're committed to keeping our crossover/SUV portfolio fresh – which also includes the redesigned Murano, new Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition and flagship Armada. Nissan is on a roll and we're not letting up heading into 2020."

Other new features include standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an available BOSE audio system.

The current Nissan Qashqai is one of the most popular vehicles in the Nissan lineup. Fitted between the Kicks and the Rogue, the Qashqai is currently available for less than $20,000.
