Cold Mornings in a 2026 Nissan Sentra: Which Grades Have Remote Start

Remote start turns a cold morning into an easy one. You start the car from inside, finish your coffee, and step into a cabin that has already had a few minutes to warm up.

On the 2026 Nissan Sentra, remote engine start is standard on four of the five grades. The SV, SV Premium, SR and SR Premium all include it, while the entry-level S does not. Here is a grade-by-grade look at what each Sentra brings to winter mornings, so you can pick the right one with confidence.

Sentra S: The Starting Point

The Sentra S is the only 2026 grade without remote engine start. It still covers several winter basics. Heated front seats are standard, along with heated gloss black power outside mirrors and a rear window defroster with a timer.

The S uses remote keyless entry with push button ignition and manual air conditioning. It is a good fit for buyers who park in a heated garage or simply want the most straightforward Sentra.

Sentra SV: Where Remote Start Begins

The SV is the first Sentra grade with remote engine start, and it makes a real difference on a frosty morning. The SV also adds a heated steering wheel, so your hands warm up along with the seat.

Inside, the SV adds automatic climate control and the Nissan Intelligent Key, which lets you keep the key in your pocket or bag. It also rides on 16-inch machined aluminum-alloy wheels and adds a 12.3-inch enhanced digital meter.

Sentra SV Premium: More Convenience Through Winter

The SV Premium keeps remote start, heated front seats and the heated steering wheel. It adds heated outside mirrors with LED turn signal indicators and Intelligent Key with Approach Unlock and Walk Away Lock, so the doors unlock as you walk up with your arms full.

The package also brings a power tilt and sliding glass moonroof, an auto-dimming inside mirror, wireless phone charging and a 6-speaker audio system.

Sentra SR: Sporty Style, Full Winter Kit

The SR pairs remote engine start with the sportiest look in the lineup. It adds 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED signature headlights, a full-width LED tail light and sport cloth seats with accent stitching.

For winter, the SR includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated outside mirrors with turn signal indicators and Approach Unlock and Walk Away Lock. It also steps up to dual-zone automatic climate control, so driver and passenger can each set their own temperature.

Sentra SR Premium: The Top of the Lineup

The SR Premium keeps everything from the SR, including remote start, and adds TailorFit sport leatherette seats with a 6-way power driver’s seat and 4-way power lumbar support. It also brings a Bose 8-speaker premium audio system, Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, and ProPILOT Assist with Lane Keep Assist and Cyclist Detection. Rear sonar sensors and Rear Automatic Braking round out the package.

What Every Remote Start Grade Shares

If you choose any Sentra from the SV upward, you get the same core cold-morning kit:

  • Remote engine start
  • Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel
  • Nissan Intelligent Key keyless entry
  • Automatic climate control and a rear under-seat heater duct

One reminder before you use it: provincial laws may apply to remote starting, so review your local rules first.

Every 2026 Sentra uses a 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine rated at 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque, with an Xtronic transmission and front-wheel drive.
